Here we've got a mainstay of the French death metal scene. Sure, they've mellowed, turned to third rate nonsense, and retired to the old folks home for bands past their prime known as Season of Mist, but I'm not going to hold that against them. Their previous two albums were straight forward, ass-kicking east coast styled Death Metal, but this album went sideways with their sound. Every track brings its own style, from folkish gypsy parts, to evil choirs, to blasting chaos, to Conan the Barbarian soundtrack covers. A unique listen with a few what the fuck moments scattered throughout.
