I...dare...YOU!

Some days ago I was having this little casual chat with Namru_Xul which loosely involved a relative´s suicide, drugs, insanity and ... HAWKWIND.
Well,(un)fortunately I do not keep any archives anywhere but Namru quite blatantly
(and to my total disbelief) expresssed the will to post the latter´s entire (Official and Unofficial) discography.
Well , see this as my contribution/introduction (that "rare" bootleg I told you of will be coming soon too as soon as I find it)to your future post ,
or who the hell knows? Maybe we´ll be working together on this one...
As a taste of what´s to come here´s some random compilation cd nicked from HMV or Virgin, not too sure now,in London(center, near Trocadero) at a time when life was as simple as nicking wine bottles from Marks & Spencers(the one almost right opposite to Brixton´s tube station for instance),
selling it to local restaurant owners
for 20 quid - Tenner B bag/Tenner W bag ...
Launder,fold,repeat (locations may vary)...
...but yeah man , I DO dare you!!!!

Dinner Auf Uranos - 50 Sommer - 50 Winter

I'd been keeping a close eye on the release of this album, simply because it was being released on Cold Dimensions(Lunar Aurora, Graupel, Trist).
We have an album that is split into two sections. The first three songs being '50 Sommer' and the last three being '50 Winter'.
Mature, German speaking progressive modern Rock is the order of the day, which at times can wear you down, slumped in your chair with no consideration for tomorrow, or the passing minutes...just cigarette stains on your lips and empty bottles at your feet.
There is a darkness to all of this, which is subtle and will show itself only to the seasoned listener, so sit back, download and wallow in your own black mood.

Italian Monster

Formula 3 is one of Italy's biggest names in prog. This is off their debut from 197o. The other songs I've heard off this album were quite shit, but they were pop covers. As far as I know the rest of the album could in fact be as great as this. This song is brilliant. It's dark, doomy, and heavy. You can see the influence stuff like this had in the sound of other Italian acts that Xul holds near and dear.

Vagtazo Halottkemek - Naptanc

Good ol' VHK. There are some things that are meant to be cherished. One of those things is a crazy Hungarian shaman running around in Josephs Technicolored Dreamcoat seemingly hopped up on hallucinogens immitating whale and bird sounds and screaming. Good album to listen to if you get bombed and feel like spinning around in circles like some sort of fucking Muslim, or just sitting back and relaxing to ten minute long ritual ambient tribal shaman post hardcore punk prog psychedellic rock songs.

Nektar - Journey to the Centre of the Eye

I figure since everyone is either high or drunk for the holidays, now is a good time to post this. Chances are good that it will bore you into suicide. This album is akin to drifting through a blue nebula while your cheap 1970s sci-fi production spaceship console flashes its pointless lights at you. 13 tracks that all tie into one long journey into madness, depression, and brain death. This is a chasm of psychedelic space rock that shouldn't be passed over.

Il Balletto di Bronzo - YS

I could never say enough about this release. Some hold it to be the greatest prog album ever recorded. At the very least, you would have to be a mongoloid to not agree that it is one of the best to ever come from the Italian scene. It is one of those albums that is 100% perfection from start to finish. A dark cornucopia of seering acid laced guitar, swirling mist infused green colored electronics, and heavy rhythms so complex your mind wont know what to do. and in all likelyhood, you wont be able to understand it with one listen. This can be a tough album to get into. There is nothing catchy here. No repeating melodies for you to latch on to. Just an ever progressing psychedelic tapestry. Allow this album to fully sink in over many listens. You will discover that you're listening to something truly unique and amazing. Break out the blotter acid, it's time to experience greatness.

Igra Staklenih Perli

Ah, just look at that album cover. Brings me back to the days of my youth spent scowling about on Nibiru 9. Perched upon a large mushroom while injecting myself to glory, watching intergalactic kriegwhales drift through the clouds of methyl alcohol. What joy it was to hear their mournful cry while feasting upon kebabs my enslaved pet Muslim had brought me. Good ol' what's his name, I knew him well. But that's enough reminiscing. Before you is a classic of psychedelic prog. 1979 debut from these Yugoslav space rockers. If that cover isn't enough to make you want to hear this dark masterpiece, you need to mainline heroin until you cease breathing. Do so regardless, as it will enhance your listening pleasure ten fold.
