News

On the 23rd of October Gorgoroth will be releasing their new album Quantos Passunt Ad..

Helheim - Fenris

Helheim (also know as The Helheim Society for those confused with those useless viking fish eaters) were one of the earlier bands to appear on the industrial black metal scene (Back when it was still known as Cyber Black Metal... a term I still prefer). While industrial black metal has grown by leaps and bounds this is a pioneering album you need to know.

PLUNDER

Negura Bunget - Maiastru Sfetnic

Negura Bunget's masterpiece. While they later expanded on their sound and became increasingly polished, this was raw black metal perfected. Undoubtedly one of the greatest black albums of all time. PLUNDER HERE

Barathrum Infernal

Barathrum's Infernal. The perfect band to explain how simplicity is often all you need to create some truly amazing and demented work.

Old Wainds - Where The Snows Are Never Gone

This is the 'Pure Holocaust' of Russian Black Metal.
Delivering a blistering attack of frosty grimness when this style seemed to be on the way out, the thing with this release, is that they tend to do it better than the people they obviously worship.

Thorns - Stigma Diabolicum

Demos/Best of.
This is an important collection of songs when it comes to Norwegian Black Metal in the early 90's being as though most of those young hoodlums would have heard Thorns/Stigma Diabolicum before putting out anything of their own, minus Mayhem....I believe this is a link, as well as Burzum as to why Euronymous ended up making DMDS and not another Deathcrush. With some material created and released in 1989, and riffs reused in DMDS this is an essential listen, even for non-die-hard Thorns fans. It's essential listening and shows that Snorre wasn't just a get away driver.
