Majestic Black Metal from down-under.
Mood driven with spirit this can remind us of early Nastrond (The last track is a good example)during parts and during solo synth work, we're thrown into Summoning-Like brilliance..
The keys take us on a journey whilst the guitars simply keep us focused, the end is never truly clear, so keep on the path and listen closely throughout.
This album has a wonderful atmosphere, vast and distant which can often have you feeling like you're right there in the middle of it all.

Shatraug of Horna and a mysterious English member....Carries with it a rather familiar sound(Horna, of course)...This has been likened to Darkspace and such bands, but I can't see it myself.

Contra Ignem Fatuum

UK Black Metal that doesn't sound like it's simply trying to fill an empty slot in the latest local pub line up.
I'm sad to say this is only 20 minutes long, and sad because the second track, which is Black Metal, is rather brilliant.
That is, within the walls of the style it's played in, which would be atmospheric/ambient.
Tracks 1&3 are martial ambient pieces of music, which are no less good tracks, better for the fact that the first is merely leading up to 'Detritus' and the final song is almost like a farewell for now piece of beauty.
With subtle but superbly exicuted synths lingering throughout, this is a cold affair and I'm sure this band could offer us something truly great...it seems however that there's no recent news on their movements, which is a shame....still Xul will be looking out for Contra Ignem Fatuum in the future.

Schlaflos

Instrumental black metal Demo from Germany, or should I say...Nebula Black Metal.
Very broad in its sound, open and vast like the soundtrack to an aliencraft floating aimlessly through the galaxy, not knowing where to look or turn to next. This is simple and quite straightforward, but it is classy in the sense that it pulls of the whole "atmospheric" vibe all these other bands claim to have, yet fail to actually produce, no bullshit acoustic homosexual wicca intros between songs here, just someones "thoughts" made music. saying that the last track is an acoustic song but, there's more to it than just trying to sound pretty and thoughtful for the random female/faggot listener.
Worth a good old listen.

Astral Silence - Astral Journey

After a split late last year, we finally have the final product in this years first 2010 album for W-O-X.
If you enjoyed the tracks on the split, enjoy Darkspace and related space-age projects out there, then there's very little you should dislike about this.
Vast atmospheres with hints of dread and doom lurking with menace this is a good way to start the new year. Nebula Black Metal is back!

Ambient Black Metal from Sweden.

The new Demo 'Neath The Black Veil' could be said to carry with it some early Manes charm when it comes to the thickness of the sound, slow paced Black Metal hovers around behind synths and steady drums, if you think back to Summoning's Nightshade Forests guitar sound, this is somewhat similar in the part it plays on 'Night Spirit', even some of the synth work can be compared to Summoning in its delivery.

Even though this band has nothing to do with the world beyond our sky, it certainly carries with it an astral atmosphere, thus shall be labled within the Xul genre of Nebula Black Metal.

Black Metal from Nimosh who runs runs Kunsthall Productions with Wroth/Wintherr from Darkspace/Paysage d'Hiver.

So, you can expect something similar in sound here.

Although started in 1996 this 'band' only produced one album that never saw the dark of space until 2002, which is brought to you here. Cold stuff to be expected from a Kunsthall offering.
